Water and its perks

We all have heard it say how important it is to drink at least 2L of water per day. Our bodies are mainly liquid, but not just any liquid, water is the responsible of certain functions such as digestion, the creation of saliva, circulation, absorption, the maintenance of body temperature and transport of nutrients just to name a few.

Most people ingest the recommended amount suggested above or more per day, as others barely drink it if at all. It is true that for some the ingestion of this fluid can be a challenge due to the insipid taste, therefore, the reason for this article. In order to keep a healthy body we are going to provide you with some tips on how to make “this experience” more enjoyable for the whole family.

INFUSED WATER

Someone who clearly did not like to drink water came up with this idea, and what a great invention! Lemon Water

INGREDIENTS

1 Lemon (sliced)

1 Mini Cucumber (sliced)

10-12 Fresh Mint leaves

Strawberry Water

INGREDIENTS

3 Strawberries cut in half

1/2 Cup of Blueberries

6-8 Fresh Mint leaves

Lavender Water

INGREDIENTS

1 Tablespoon of dried Lavender

1 Lime (thinly sliced)

6-8 Fresh Mint leaves (optional)

Grapefruit Water

INGREDIENTS

1 Grapefruit cut in pieces

2 Sprigs of fresh Rosemary

White Peach Water

INGREDIENTS

1 White peach (sliced)

1 Small bunch of fresh Basil leaves

WATER-RICH FOODS

Though infused water is a very healthy and fun option to keep hydrated, remember the benefits of ingesting fruits and vegetables are equally important. Here is a list of “watery” foods that will also help you keep thirst free.
